How it works

We do the legwork. You take the meetings.

Most shops hear about a big job when the invite goes out, along with eight competitors. We get you there first.

01 · FIND

We pick the jobs

$10M+ projects in your metro that fit your trade and size, found in state filings, council agendas, rezonings and early permits.

02 · MAP

We find who's deciding

The owner, developer, architect, the GC, and the actual preconstruction contacts on each job.

03 · BOOK

We book the meeting

We write and send the intros, book the meetings, brief you before each one, and file the prequal paperwork.

Your part: a 30-minute kickoff, the meetings, and 30 minutes a month.

Real projects, right now

Not a demo. Here's what's coming up.

Every project below is registered with the State of Texas with a future start date. Names are held back; they're in your list.

Why early wins

By the time the invite goes out, the list is already set.

GCs build bid lists from subs they already know. The shops that met them months earlier get the call. Everyone else gets a price war.

✓Projects found 6–12 months before a typical bid invite
✓Intros to GC precon teams and owners, written and sent for you
✓A one-page brief before every meeting
✓Prequal packets filed so you're ready when the list is built

Questions

Straight answers.

Is this a bid board or a lead list?

No. We don't hand you a list to work. We do the pursuit: pick the jobs, find the people, book the meetings, file the paperwork.

Do you do takeoffs or estimating?

No. Your estimators price the job; that's your edge. We get you in early, so they have months to learn the scope instead of the usual few weeks, and we prep you for the budget-pricing requests GCs make during preconstruction.

Where do the projects come from?

Public records only: state construction filings, city council and county agendas, incentive deals, rezonings, early permits and owner procurements. A person checks every project, every fact has a source, and estimates are labeled.

Which trades and metros?

Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, concrete, steel, glass, roofing, drywall, site work and GCs, in major US metros. Our deepest coverage today is Texas.

What counts as a meeting?

A scheduled call or sit-down with a GC's preconstruction team or an owner's decision-maker about a specific $10M+ project that fits your trade.

What if you don't book a meeting?

Then you don't pay. Nothing is charged until your first meeting is booked, and if there's no meeting in 30 days, you owe nothing.

Who's behind this?

Devon Booker, based in San Antonio. An IT background (help desk to IT director, cybersecurity degree) is how the research system behind Backroom Bids was built.
